Learn pottery at our Triana studio

Our pottery and ceramic school in Seville is on Calle Pureza 72, in Triana — the birthplace of Seville’s pottery tradition. It is an intimate, welcoming space where you will learn artistic ceramics with Marisa, with over 20 years’ experience and more than 400 people who have already passed through the studio.

Classes are in person, in small groups of up to 12 people, so you get truly personal attention. It does not matter if you have never touched clay: we guide you step by step from day one. If you already have experience, you will refine your technique with more ambitious projects.

Many of our students started as beginners and now make pieces they never imagined. That is what drives us most.

What will you learn in our pottery classes?

In our ceramics course in Seville we cover the full range of artistic ceramic techniques, from the most accessible to the most specialised. You set the pace and choose what to explore in each session.

Hand-building

Pinching, coils and slabs to shape the clay. The foundation of artistic ceramics — ideal to start with no prior experience.

Ceramic painting

Decoration with oxides, slips and coloured glazes. Bring your pieces to life with free motifs or traditional Seville designs.

Glazing

Learn to glaze your pieces with different techniques and finishes — colour, texture and layers to match what you imagine.

Seville cuerda seca

Triana’s iconic decorative technique — manganese lines separating fields of bright glaze colour.

Design and creativity

We help you develop your own style — from functional pieces (tableware, mugs) to sculptural and decorative work.

Ceramic classes for every level

Beginners

You have never done ceramics and do not know where to start. Perfect — we guide you from scratch with patience and no pressure. Most of our students began this way.

Intermediate and advanced

You already have experience and want to refine your skills or explore new areas such as cuerda seca or glazing. We tailor the content to your level.

Children (from age 6)

Little ones learn modelling and painting with an adult. A great family activity for weekends.

Adults of all ages

From university students to retirees — ceramics is a relaxing, creative activity that suits any age and ability.

Not looking for regular classes? We also offer one-day painting experiences from €10/person with no long-term commitment. Many students started that way.

Who is behind Arte y Pureza?

Marisa, founder and ceramics teacher at Arte y Pureza, working on a piece in the Triana studio

Hi! I am Marisa, the person behind this school. I have loved visual arts since I was a child, so I soon steered my studies in that direction.

I trained in several disciplines before finding ceramics — but once I discovered it, I fell in love and have dedicated my life to this wonderful craft.

In 2020 I founded Arte y Pureza as a comfortable, fully equipped place for anyone who wants to explore artistic ceramics and have a rewarding learning experience.
