Ceramics in Seville: handmade tradition in the heart of Triana
If you are looking for authentic ceramics in Seville—handmade with the quality of Triana's pottery tradition—you are in the right place. Arte y Pureza is an artisan pottery and ceramics workshop in Seville at Calle Pureza 72, in Triana—the centre of Seville pottery for centuries.
Marisa Carmona began her professional career in the early 2000s at the Fernán Caballero artistic ceramics studio, specialising in ceramic painting. Over time, commissions arrived for murals, religious pieces, signage and work dedicated to leading figures in Seville culture.
Years later, her daughter Irene Almela trained alongside her, building strong skills in both hand-building and ceramic painting, carrying the craft forward and broadening the studio's focus. Together they created Arte y Pureza, a space where anyone can explore Seville ceramics. More than 400 people have already visited our Seville pottery and ceramic workshop.
Whether you're a tourist looking for unique things to do in Seville or a local who wants to learn pottery, here you can learn from scratch in our pottery and ceramic classes, enjoy a one-off paint-your-own session, or commission bespoke work: from personalised children's tableware to hand-painted tiles for your home or business.
We work with traditional techniques such as cuerda seca, sgraffito and glaze painting, combined with contemporary designs. Every piece that leaves our kiln is one of a kind. All materials are lead-free and food-safe.
